I have spent more than twenty years designing, building and operating enterprise technology, from large-scale datacentres and infrastructure platforms through to Azure, managed services and cloud transformation.
Over that time, I have learned that technology is rarely the hardest part.
The difficult problems usually sit between the architecture diagrams: operating models, ownership, governance, cost, organisational culture and the practical constraints of delivering change in complex environments.
BezSez is where I share those lessons.
Some articles are technical. Others explore cloud strategy, FinOps, operating models and technology leadership. They are all written from practical experience rather than theory.

Beyond technology
Technology is a significant part of my life, but it is not the whole story.
Away from architecture diagrams and Azure discussions, I enjoy photography, particularly motorsport and rugby. Some of my favourite photographs come from the Le Mans 24 Hours and grassroots sporting events.
Photography gives me a different way to think about technology, engineering, movement and the importance of capturing the right moment.
