About Me
Technology has been a huge part of my life for more than twenty years.
I’ve spent my career helping organisations design, build and operate technology platforms, from large-scale datacentres and managed infrastructure environments through to Azure cloud platforms, FinOps operating models and enterprise transformation programmes.
Today I work as a Technical and Solution Architect, helping organisations navigate the challenges of cloud adoption, platform engineering and operational transformation. Much of my experience has been gained within highly regulated industries, where security, governance and reliability are every bit as important as innovation.
Throughout my career I’ve been fortunate enough to work on some fascinating projects. From helping design and build one of the world’s largest Active Directory environments as part of NHSmail, to supporting organisations on their cloud transformation journeys, I’ve learned that successful technology programmes are rarely about technology alone.
People, process, culture and operating models are usually the real challenge.
That’s a recurring theme you’ll find throughout this site.
Why BEZSEZ_?
After years of working in consulting and architecture roles, I realised many of the most valuable lessons never make it into marketing brochures, vendor documentation or conference presentations.
- The reality of delivery is often far messier.
- Projects have constraints.
- Budgets are limited.
- Organisations have competing priorities.
- Architectures evolve.
- Sometimes good ideas fail.
- Sometimes bad ideas somehow survive.
This blog is my place to share those experiences, lessons learned and occasional opinions, in the hope they help somebody else facing similar challenges.
Some posts are highly technical.
Others focus on operating models, cloud adoption or FinOps.
And occasionally there may even be a rant.

Outside of work you’ll often find me behind a camera, at the Gym or on a rugby pitch
I enjoy photography, particularly motorsport and sports photography, and some of my favourite memories have been captured at events such as the Le Mans 24 Hours.
I’m also a rugby player and supporter and regularly spend time photographing local rugby matches.
Photography provides something technology rarely does.
Technology is often about finding the right answer.
Photography is about finding the right moment.
Many of the photographs featured throughout this site are my own and offer a glimpse into the things I enjoy when I’m not thinking about Azure architecture diagrams.

One of the most rewarding parts of working in technology is sharing knowledge with others.
Whether through blog posts, community events, presentations, mentoring or simply conversations with colleagues, I strongly believe the industry improves when we share experiences openly.
